International Service recruits on behalf of local
organisations – non-governmental organisations (NGOs), municipalities, community
groups, grassroots organisations - who have identified a need for specific
skills for which they are unable – for whatever reason - to recruit locally.
We recruit worldwide for around 30 vacancies each year, and interviewing takes place throughout the year at our
offices in the UK, and where appropriate, in-country.
All posts require individuals with professional skills and at least two years’ experience (ideally in a development context); but they’re just the essential starting point. You will also need to be able to demonstrate that you are adaptable and flexible, resilient and tenacious, open to sharing and learning, and above all committed - none of the projects for which we recruit is perfect (if they were, they wouldn’t need you).
2 years minimum
Living allowance in relation to local costs
Pre-departure and resettlement grants
Accommodation
Medical and personal insurance
Travel
Language training
20 days’ annual holiday
Some costs (flights/insurance/accommodation) for up to two dependants
IS welcomes applications from non-UK nationals.
Selection for all posts takes place over two days at our offices in
York, for which accommodation is provided and travel expenses reimbursed.
If you are interested in applying for a specific post now, or in being kept on file for future posts, please download and complete an application form in Word format and send it:
