New funding from the EU helps our work in Brazil to continue

We are delighted to have secured €654,000 in funding from the European Union. This means that our work with some of the poorest communities in North East Brazil's semi-arrid region can continue for another three years.

Here our Development Workers are supporting four of our local partners to train local communities in agricultural techniques helping them make a living from the land, as well as improving the quality of the land at the same time.

Our International Programmes Director, Martin Keat, said:

"In this part of Brazil, poor communities and families are often given the poorest quality land. This makes it even more difficult to earn a living and provide for your family. This funding means we can continue to help people learn and develop long-term, sustainable skills and techniques for working with this difficult terrain."
