Ted Baker's Christmas Fete creates a buzz
about fighting poverty
9 December 2011
Rural families and farmers in North East Brazil can add beekeeping to their activities thanks to support from leading fashion and lifestyle company, Ted Baker.
When the Green Team learned that beekeeping helps rural people in Brazil overcome poverty, they agreed that proceeds from this year's Christmas Fete would sponsor a beehive and training.
Never has playing "pin the nose on Rudolf" done so much good!

Why beehives?
Bees nurture our environment, pollinating the crops we eat and countless natural habitats.
Ted Baker has been doing its bit for UK conservation through the addition of beehives to the roof of its London office.
In Brazil, wreas of the desert-like North East region have been devastated by intensive commercial farming. We have been working with the communities who live there to help them improve family nutrition and earn a living from organic farming. Beekeeping is an important activity for pollination, and also producing honey for sale at market.
