International Citizen Service

Youth volunteering scheme

International Citizen Service (ICS) gives young people aged 18-22 from all backgrounds the opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of people in developing countries.

Launched by the Prime Minister, and funded by the Department for International Development, ICS supports young adults to serve in the fight against global poverty.

It's also a unique way to develop all-important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication and decision-making.

** We have a handful of volunteer places available in
April 2012.  There are team member spaces available in
Burkina Faso, Bolivia, and Palestine.  Apply immediately if
you would like to be considered for these placements. **

** We hope to be involved with the expansion of ICS
from June 2012-15.  More information will be available as
soon as we have it. **

Assessment days take place several months before placement departure dates so volunteers have enough time for all the preparations including: organising security checks, flight bookings, vaccinations, health clearance, visas, and pre-departure training.
