Development Worker vacancy, Mali

    Statistician/Database Specialist

La Direction Nationale de la Promotion de l’Enfant et de la Famille - Ségou, Mali

    Background

In Mali, agencies working in the area of child protection lack relevant and reliable data, which increasingly undermines the development and implementation of child protection programmes. A lack of data makes it difficult to demonstrate the impact of the work, therefore also making it difficult to design national policies.

In order to address this issue, La Direction Nationale de la Promotion de l’Enfant et de la Famille, International Service, and UNICEF are working together to develop an experimental information system in the field of Child Protection.

    Our partner
La Direction Régionale de la Promotion de la Femme, de l’Enfant et de la Famille de Ségou - is the regional department working in the area of women and children’s promotion. They refer all children in difficult circumstances to the appropriate institutions or programmes, and they work closely with other state regional departments and NGOs to implement child promotion programmes. The department is responsible for centralising all information related to child protection in the region of Ségou.

    The role
You will be based in the children’s section, which deals with all child protection related issues. Based in Ségou for 2 years, your main responsibility will be to finalise the implementation of the experimental child protection database system for the region of Ségou.

You will be in charge of monitoring the information system and scaling it up at a national level. You will be in constant dialogue with our partners to ensure fluidity in the gathering of information.

You will also be responsible for sharing skills  with the team members of La Direction Régionale de la Promotion de la Femme, de l’Enfant et de la Famille de Ségou and other partners to ensure the durability of the database.
