We are currently recruiting for a Programme Coordinator to support the delivery of our volunteering programmes.

The role is 28 hours per week, Permanent, paid at £17,800 p.a. pro-rata (i.e., £13,470 gross).

International Service is a York based International Development charity. We work alongside change-makers to challenge inequality and discrimination in communities throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Our projects are delivered in partnership with local organisations who understand the specific challenges their communities face. Volunteering is key to how International Service delivers projects; we strive to facilitate effective, inclusive volunteering programmes that promote active citizenship and increase the capacity of our partners to create positive change. 

Having recently received funding to deliver multiple European Solidarity Corps projects we have an immediate vacancy in our York head office for a Programme Coordinator. They will be responsible for coordinating the volunteer journey, from recruitment and selection, to pre-departure preparations and support upon return. They will also support international volunteers completing placements in York.

We are seeking a positive and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with people. You should be comfortable managing multiple work-streams, prioritising tasks and using your own initiative. You will need great communication skills and ideally have experience working with young people from diverse backgrounds. Applicants should be adept with social media and Microsoft Office packages, and be able to quickly learn how to use bespoke IT systems (such as CRM software). 

You should have a commitment to the vision and values of International Service and in particular the benefits of youth volunteering and development.

We require a Programme Coordinator promptly and so will be assessing applications and interviewing candidates on a rolling basis. Please be aware the position is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
